We are working with cisco TAC to identify and remedy an issue causing one of our phone system servers to lose connection. we will be performing maintenance tonight to pull some statistics/information to better identify the underlying cause. During this time the phones may lose connection while the system undergoes this work.

UFIT staff will perform maintenance for Network Services beginning on Sunday, September 10 at 6:00 AM.

**Code will be upgraded in Stadium first floor, the Stadium skybox, Yon third floor and Herritage Hall. There will be a brief 10 minute loss of network access during this change.

**A new UFNet2 environment will be deployed in support of Research "export-control" policies. This work will not be service affecting.

**Additional authentication capacity will be added to the systems which perform wireless authentication. There will be no downtime due to this change.

The maintenance is expected to be completed by Sunday, September 10 at 9:00 AM.

There is an issue with searching for emails in the Outlook client and OWA/Webmail for all Career Resource Center Staff. Email Sending and Receiving is functioning normally.

Update from UFIT as of 8/22/2017 3:51pm:

"UFIT is implementing a resolution for the Service Issues in the campus wireless network with a maintenance Tuesday at 10:00 PM. This should resolve a capacity constraint that\'s been identified in the network that connects the campus wireless network. Users may notice a very brief outage to wireless as connections are moved within the UF Data Centers. No other campus services will be impacted by this change."

Update from UFIT as of 8/21/2017 5:15pm:

"UFIT is continuing to investigate the campus wireless outage, and as of 5:00 PM, the service has been working for well over an hour. We will perform maintenance tonight to improve the system's ability to handle load and provide full redundancy. This change will cause a rolling 5 minute outage to many APs across campus. Another update will be sent on Tuesday."

"uf" Wireless Service is unavailable. UFIT is working to resolve the outage and will fully investigate the issues that caused them after the services are restored.

UFIT understands that these outages are disrupting academic and administrative processes and appreciates the impact they is having on the university community. Our staff are working as quickly as possible to restore services.

The following CRC virtual machines are having RAW LUN disks converted into VMware VMDKs during tonight's 10PM onward maintenance window:

  • CRCSQL
  • CRCWEBAPP
  • odbc-crc-win-01

As part  of this outage, these VMs will also be shut down during the conversion:

  • CRCODBC
  • CRCAPPS01

The conversion of these LUNs will cause no data loss.

Total downtime: ~3 hours from this post.

Sites affected:

  2. https://crcwebapp.housing.ufl.edu/Outreach

When conversions are completed - all 4 VMs will be restarted in this order:

  1. CRCSQL
  2. CRCODBC
  3. odbc-crc-win-01

  5. CRCWEBAPP

 

Lastly - the above two URLs will be tested for proper operations.

We need to disable the wireless networks currently being broadcast to make some changes to the network interface that services them, at this time wireless with be unavailable/intermittent as this work is completed. We will close this alert once the work is finished.

We have identified an issue affecting some of the Access Points in our environment, this bug causes the Access Points to crash and reboot. When this occurs clients will be dropped and need to re-associate. We will be installing new firmware on the wireless controller to remedy this issue.
