The issues with VPN connectivity have been resolved and users can connect to either device.

 

 

At this time if you need VPN connectivity, Please connect to vpn2.ufsa.ufl.edu.

 

We are looking into possible issues with using VPN to contact the housing network. We are lookig into this issue and will update this alert once we know more.

The issue has been resolved and mail is flowing normally. 

 

Update: We are continuing to work on this issue. This post will be updated when the issue is resolved

 

There is currently a delay on all incoming messages from external mail users.

Users will still receive incoming messages from outside sources such as Gmail and UF Main Campus, but there may be significant delays for receiving these. 

We are aware of this issue and our team is working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

There will be a Cox Cable Outage on Thursday, December 21st beginning at 8:00am for maintenance work on the cabling. Expect the outage to take most of the day, although some areas will come back on line quicker than others as the cable work is completed.

At 8:30am, we experienced an unique infrastructure outage in our datacenter that caused service outages for email service, network access for residents in UF Housing buildings, and network access for Student Affairs on wireless or in UF Housing buildings.

All service is restored and here is some additional information by service:

Email Service

  • Service restored at 9:30am. Email queues are processing mail normally.
  • NOTE: Employees of the Counseling and Wellness Center, J. Wayne Reitz Union, Student Activities and Involvement, and SG Advising and Operations were not directly affected. These employees would have experienced delays in receiving email replies from other Student Affairs departments while the email outage was occurring.

Network Access for Residents in UF Housing Buildings

  • Service restored at 9:10am.

Network Access for Student Affairs Staff on Wireless and in UF Housing Buildings

  • Service restored at 9:10am

UFIT will performance maintenance on the wireless network this Sunday, 12/3/17 6:00am - 9:00am. 

Routing for all wireless networks will be moved to a new infrastructure. Wireless users may see up to 10 minutes of downtime while this work is performed.

Long Distance Dialing is currently unavailable. UFIT is working to resolve the outage and will fully investigate the issues that caused it after the service is restored

Outbound Long Distance from ATT is currently unavailable. UFIT is routing outbound long distance traffic through our Level3 service provider. You may occasionally need to retry a call while the workaround is in place. UFIT is working to resolve the outage and will fully investigate the issues that caused it after the service is restored.

UFIT understands that this outage is disrupting academic and administrative processes and appreciates the impact it is having on the university community. Our staff are working as quickly as possible to restore services.

It has come to our attention that when updating Adobe Creative Cloud to the new 2018 version, the existing license will not work.  We are currently working with Software Licensing to get this issue resolved.
