  • Outlook not responding
  • Delays in receiving and sending mail
  • Extended wait times when opening calendars

Monthly Windows patches will be applied to all Reitz Union and Student Government Servers this weekend during two maintenance windows Saturday and Sunday mornings. Web and database servers will be restarted Sunday night at 11:00pm; Time Reporting services will not be available during that time.

Switches have been replaced in both buildings. All services should now be restored.


 

Following the power outage in Maguire & UVS Villages this evening, we had 2 buildings experience hardware failure on the network switches supporting the building. At this time all power to Maguire/UVS has been restored and replacement hardware is being prepared for UVS 324 & 332, equipment should be deployed shortly.

We will be performing maintenance to rename division computers in preparation for the IT Rationalization project and moving the computer to UFAD domain.  This will be happening tonight, and will require a reboot of your machine.  Please make sure to log off your computer but leave it powered on.  If it is a laptop, please make sure to leave it connected to the dock powered on.  Because your machines are being rebooted, please make sure to save any work you may have open on your computer before you leave.

Connectivity issue affecting computers in the housing department.


An update has been pushed to all HRE computers to resolve this issue. All Housing computers should be restarted to receive this update, even those unaffected by this outage.

All services have been restored to all buildings at this time.


 

Power/Network has been restored to all buildings except Maguire 366. Staff is currently investigating.


 

We have a reported power/network outage currently affecting Maguire Village Buildings 366, 371, 372, 378, 384, 385, and 386, this appears to be due to the severe weather moving through Gaineville, all services will be investigated as soon as it is safe to do so.

Work has extended beyond the scheduled time and maintenance will resume moving cables tomorrow 6/1 at 9am.

Maintenance will be performing some scheduled restructuring of the Network equipment for Tolbert Hall. During this time, all network access in the building will be little to none, this includes wired and wireless, as cables are unplugged and replaced.

During our regular scheduled maintenance window we will be publishing new and improved VPN profiles for all the AnyConnect clients. The new profiles will be downloaded by the clients the next time a VPN connection is established.

These updates provide the following improvements for our users:

  • The client will automatically fail over to the secondary VPN appliance should the primary one not be available.
  • The client will detect if the laptop is connected to our network and not automatically establish a VPN connection if it is.

The info sheet for connecting to VPN with the AnyConnect client has been updated and can is attached to this alert.
